Rutte: Dutch Defence Ministry is 'persistently' looking for air defence equipment for Ukraine
The country is cooperating with Denmark, the Czech Republic and Estonia to urgently deliver air defence equipment and missiles to Ukraine

Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte had a telephone conversation with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy amid another Russian attack on civilians in Ukrainian cities. According to him, the conversation focused on the rapid delivery of additional air defence systems and artillery shells to Ukraine.
"Russia's aggression against Ukraine does not stop. Air strikes on Kharkiv and other cities have caused new civilian casualties. To counter this onslaught, Ukraine desperately needs our help. The new military support package that the United States is now providing is crucial in this regard. Today I spoke with President Zelenskyy about all the ways in which the Netherlands can help.
Zelenskyy about all that the Netherlands can do to support Ukraine. Together with our allies, the Netherlands is taking steps to ensure the rapid delivery of additional air defence equipment and artillery shells," he tweeted.
"We are participating in the German initiative for the rapid delivery of long-range air defence systems. Our Ministry of Defence is working hard to find air defence equipment that Ukraine can use to neutralise attacks by Russian drones and missiles," the Dutch prime minister added.
He noted that his country is also working with Denmark and the Czech Republic to quickly deliver air defence equipment and ammunition (including artillery shells) to Ukraine, and is participating in an Estonian initiative to supply Ukraine with ammunition from its existing stockpile.
Background. It has also been recently reported that Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin is "personally" persuading leaders of other countries to provide Ukraine with Patriot systems. Ukraine has identified 100 air defence systems in allied countries and is asking for at least seven of them.
