Russia stops publishing petrol production data after drone strikes on refineries - Reuters
The disclosure of such information could lead to market manipulation by unscrupulous participants, Russians fear.

Russia's Ministry of Energy stops publishing data on petrol production.

This measure is explained by the need to maintain the ‘information security’ of the petroleum products market.
‘Given the current geopolitical situation, the disclosure of such information could lead to market manipulation by unscrupulous participants,’ the Russian Energy Ministry told the agency.
Since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russia has stopped publishing many statistics.
Since the beginning of the year, petrol production in Russia has declined, at least for a while, following repeated attacks by Ukrainian drones on Russian refineries. On 1 March, the country introduced a ban on petrol exports.
On 20 May, the Russian government suspended the export ban until 30 June, after which date, unless the Russian government decides otherwise, the ban will be re-imposed.
Background. As reported, on 17 May, Russia's Tuapse refinery was shut down as a result of a nighttime attack by Ukrainian drones. The refinery's liquefied petroleum gas production unit was damaged. It had managed to operate for a month between attacks.
