Survey: 43% of German companies in Ukraine plan new investments
At the same time, 42% of companies believe that the situation will improve in the coming year

Despite the war, German companies operating in Ukraine are optimistic about the economic situation in our country. 43% of German firms in Ukraine are planning new investments, the international audit firm KPMG said, citing a survey conducted jointly with the German-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in April and May among 142 companies.
At the same time, 42% of respondents said they expect the economic situation in Ukraine to improve in the next 12 months, while another 10% believe it will deteriorate.
The favourable investment climate in Ukraine is driven by market access, the availability of skilled personnel and international programmes to rebuild the country affected by the war.
Among the obstacles, the companies mentioned the war, risks to employee safety and local corruption.
In addition, Ukraine's mobilisation law limits the availability of labour, the report added.
Meanwhile, a two-day conference on Ukraine's recovery is set to begin in Berlin on 11 June, with about 2,000 participants expected.
The German government intends to provide a long-term perspective on Ukraine's recovery and encourage investment. Among other things, the conference will focus on emergency aid in the wake of Russian attacks.
Background. As Bloomberg previously reported, Nayyem cannot attend a major international conference due to a personal order from Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal. The head of government blocked the presence of Mustafa Nayem, the head of the Reconstruction Agency, at the annual conference on the restoration of Ukraine, which will be held in Berlin on 11-12 June.
As reported, today, 10 June, Mustafa Nayyem wrote a letter of resignation.
