Russian Interior Minister attends UN summit in New York despite sanctions banning him from entering the US
He demands "proper assessment" of 23 June missile attack on Crimea

Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev has arrived in New York for the UN summit despite sanctions. The IV Summit of Chiefs of Police of UN member states takes place in New York. The topics are strengthening international security and cooperation between national police and UN police.

According to the outlet, the Russian minister is scheduled to meet on the sidelines of the summit with UN Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations Jean-Pierre Lacroix, as well as with some heads of delegations of law enforcement agencies of foreign countries, said Irina Volk, a spokeswoman for the Russian Interior Ministry.
Kolokoltsev has already said that the UN should "give a proper assessment" of the 23 June missile attack on Crimea, which killed four people and injured more than 140.
He also accused some Western states of trying to exclude Russia from Interpol and complained about "manifestations of Russophobic sentiment in the world".
The US Treasury Department imposed personal sanctions on Kolokoltsev in 2018. In connection with Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Kolokoltsev was added to another US Treasury sanctions list. According to US law, individuals on the sanctions list are banned from entering the US.
