DIU announces new operations against Wagner PMC around the world
The monopoly in the sphere of gangster piracy activity of the so-called Russian PMCs in the world and in Africa is definitely coming to an end

The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) is preparing new similar operations after a successful operation to destroy Wagner PMC militants in Mali, DIU representative Andriy Yusov said during a telethon, Liga.Net reports.
He added that several special operations against Russian mercenaries and career military personnel have recently been carried out around the world, but their details have not yet been disclosed to the media.
"Obviously, it means that the monopoly of the so-called Russian PMCs in the world and in Africa in the field of gangster piracy is definitely coming to an end. Counteraction forces are emerging that can put these criminals in their place," Yusov said.
The DIU representative stressed that "professional patriotic people" are preparing new operations to "reduce the capabilities of the aggressor state both in Africa and in other parts of the world."
At the end of July, a convoy of government troops and Russian Wagner PMC fighters in Mali was ambushed near the border with Algeria by Tuareg rebels. During the battle, Wagner and government troops were defeated, with the losses of the Russian PMC alone, according to various sources, reaching 80 people.
Later, the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine claimed its involvement in the destruction of Wagner militants in Mali.
This spring, Ukrainian special forces and Syrian rebels attacked Russian mercenaries in Syria. Earlier, the DIU conducted operations to destroy Wagnerites in Sudan.
Background. On 25 July, Ukrainian intelligence announced a comprehensive strike on the Qayres airfield in Syria, which has been controlled by the Russian military since 2015. The attack on the positions of the Russian military was carried out by fighters of the Khimik group. The Quayres air base is located east of Aleppo. The Russian Armed Forces use the airfield, among other things, for training and transferring foreign mercenaries to the war in Ukraine.
