On July 24, a business conference of the Corporate Equality Index was held in Kyiv, where representatives of Ukrainian companies exchanged their experience of working with equality, inclusion and diversity in the workplace.
Hanna Bedina, manager of corporate social responsibility, spoke on behalf of AB InBev Efes Ukraine. She participated in two panel discussions: "Diversity as a competitive advantage: inclusive practices in business" and "Opening new doors: retention and integration of internally displaced people in the labor market".
Hanna spoke about several examples of ensuring equal and fair opportunities for all employees of AB InBev Efes Ukraine. In particular, she talked about how the company supports gender equality, because as of the end of 2023, women made up 46.5% of the company's total staff, and among senior management, the share of women was 37.5%. In addition, Hanna emphasized the company's principle of equal pay, which is based on the fact that men and women that holding equal positions receive equal compensation.

A separate topic for coverage was the Parenthood Policy, which provides for an increase in maternity leave for primary caregiver to 26 weeks with a full salary pay. The conditions are valid both in the case of the birth of a child, and in the case of adoption and the establishment of guardianship over a child. In addition, the company currently operates the "Return to Work" program, which gives employees after maternity leave the opportunity to work 75% of working time during the first 8 weeks and guarantees 100% salary payment.
In addition, internal policies are an auxiliary tool for AB InBev Efes Ukraine to create an inclusive environment. For example, the company has a Code of Business Conduct, a Policy on Anti-Harassment and Discrimination, and a Policy on Responsible Selection of Suppliers, which indicates a systematic approach to ensuring fair working conditions both within the company and among suppliers.
At the panel discussion on internally displaced people, Hanna Bedina shared how the company supports its employees and helps with relocation. In addition, Hanna spoke about the current "Restore the Home" project, which helps employees who have lost their homes or whose homes have been damaged to receive financial compensation for rebuilding or buying a new home.
As part of the story, Hanna also emphasized that the company is open to hiring all categories of jobseekers, because the hiring process is unbiased and is focused on the candidate’s experience and skills.
The event became an excellent platform for the exchange of ideas and initiatives aimed at improving working conditions in times of great challenges. AB InBev Efes Ukraine once again highlighted its commitment to the principles of equality, inclusion and care for its employees, demonstrating that people always remain the company's most valuable asset.
