Russian propaganda hid from Russians that Trump called Putin “crazy”
Instead, Russian media shifted the emphasis to Macron and Trump’s criticism of Zelensky

Russian federal TV channels and media did not cover the statement of US President Donald Trump, who called Putin “crazy” and promised to tighten sanctions against Russia after another massive strike by the Russian Armed Forces on peaceful Ukrainian cities.
Source. This is reported by the Agency.
Instead, the propaganda focused exclusively on the criticism of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, which was also mentioned in Trump’s comments.
Thus, in the news broadcasts of the TV channels “Russia 1” and “Channel One”, Trump’s words about Putin were not mentioned at all.
Instead, the broadcasts paid attention to another event – a gesture by the wife of French President Emmanuel Macron, which they interpreted as a sign of a marital quarrel. Macron himself later explained that it was a joke.
TASS titled the article as follows: “Trump: Zelensky constantly creates problems for Ukraine with his statements.”
The text does not mention any possible sanctions against the Russian Federation or direct criticism of Putin.
RIA Novosti wrote: “Trump criticized Zelensky and expressed dissatisfaction with Russia.” However, the article itself again focuses on Trump’s statements about the Ukrainian president, and there are no harsh words about Putin.
Political talk shows on federal TV channels also ignored Trump’s statement about Putin, quoting only the part of the post in which the US president criticized Zelensky.
Major online publications also did not focus on Trump's statements about Putin. For example, Kommersant, Lenta.ru, and Gazeta.ru did not mention the words about the "crazy" Putin at all. And RBC headlined the article as: "After discontent with Putin, Trump criticized Zelensky," – the emphasis again shifted to the Ukrainian president.
Background. Trump in a conversation with journalists said, speaking about Putin: "He kills a lot of people, and I don't know what the hell happened to Vladimir. I've known him for a long time, I've always made peace with him, but he sends missiles to cities and kills people, and I don't like it at all."
Trump also noted that he was "definitely" considering the possibility of tightening sanctions against Moscow.
Later, in a post on Truth Social, the US president characterized Putin's actions even more sharply: "He's completely gone crazy. "I've always said he wants all of Ukraine, not just part of it, and maybe that turns out to be true. But if he does it, it will cause the fall of Russia."
