Almost 18,000 Ukrainians were evacuated from dangerous and occupied regions in October

In total, about 1,1 million civilians were evacuated from Donetsk Oblast

What happened? Almost 18,000 Ukrainians were evacuated from dangerous and temporarily occupied territories (TOT) during the current month.

Source. The Ministry of Reintegration.

Details. It is noted that about 1,000 citizens leave for the safer regions of Central and Western Ukraine every day. At the same time, mandatory evacuation from Donetsk Oblast is underway.

According to the ministry, more than 5,000 people left Donetsk Oblast in September, including more than 700 children and more than 500 persons with disabilities. In total, about 1,1 million civilians were evacuated from the oblast, including more than 131,000 children and more than 24,000 persons with disabilities.

“The opportunity to leave the temporarily occupied territories is almost exhausted. The invaders actually stopped allowing evacuation transport from Kherson and Zaporizhia oblasts to pass. They create various obstacles, demanding licenses from the carriers, applying the fingerprinting procedure, checking all documents, phones, cars, etc.,” the ministry emphasises.

The Ministry of Reintegration adds that due to the russian restrictions, only a small number of people were able to leave in almost a month. About 1,300 people were evacuated from Kherson Oblast, and about 1,400 citizens from Zaporizhia Oblast. Earlier the same number left in 1-2 days.

At the same time, the rate of evacuation from the de-occupied territories, where it is still impossible to restore life support systems ahead of winter, is increasing.
