Ukraine is developing analogs of the Patriot system – Zelensky

Ukraine is working on developing its own air defense systems, including analogs of the Patriot system.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated this during a press conference.
The president noted that Ukraine has still not received all the Patriot systems that partners had promised to deliver back in July last year at the NATO summit in Washington.
"We are working on these issues, working on air defense systems, and working on Ukrainian analogs," Zelensky said.
Patriot systems are crucial for protecting Ukrainian airspace, as they can intercept enemy ballistic missiles. Ukraine currently has only two types of systems capable of intercepting ballistic threats: Patriot and SAMP/T.
Background. Earlier, Mind reported that Ukraine is running out of American Patriot air defense missiles. If the U.S. is not ready to bring Ukraine into NATO, a reasonable alternative would be to provide the country with 20 Patriot systems and a license to produce missiles for them.
