Ukrainian losses caused by the Russia-launched war are over than $1 trillion

What happened. It became known that Ukrainian losses caused by full-scale Russian aggression considering current infrastructure damages and future losses in further years are more than $1 trillion.

More details. The detriment was calculated using the indirect method that considers losses in further years. It is more than $1 trillion.
Shmyhal emphasized that this calculation was not conducted by experts, but the detriment was structured. The first point in this list is direct infrastructure losses.
“These are all we lost as a result of direct damage: bridges, roads, residential houses, buildings. These sums increase every day. Our current assessment is $120 billion. If we consider military infrastructure and another civilian spending, it will be more than $270 billion”, – he explained.
The prime minister clarified that the registry of damaged property is created. the part of it will be available in the “Diia” application. Every person will be able to declare losses made to his or her household.
“We will have the precise, almos accountant calculation of all damage caused. This is the standard approach in such cases” – Shmyhal concluded.
To his mind, the second part is the calculation of the Ukrainian economy’s losses. “This is about GDP decrease calculated by months, this is revenue we will not earn, and lost investments. According to our calculations, it is approximately $290 billion”.
The head of government added that the third part contains losses that will impact the Ukrainian economy perspective. “We had some plans before the war regarding our economic growth. Now, enterprises bringing income to the state are being destroyed. We will correct this data after the war”.
Background. Let’s remind that the fall in Ukraine's gross domestic product (GDP) as a result of full-scale Russian military aggression is currently estimated at 35% or more.
