The United States and its allies are lobbying for Ukraine's participation in the G20 summit together with putin
Some countries wanted russia not to be invited to the meeting, but Indonesia was against this

The United States, along with other countries, insist on Indonesia to include Ukraine as a guest to the G20 summit in November, and at the same time they are disappointed with Jakarta's refusal to recall the invitation from russian president putin, Bloomberg reports.
Indonesia is the host country for this year's G20 summit. russia is a member of the G20, along with countries such as China and India that have not approved sanctions against moscow.
The United States and some other members of the G7 are now asking Jakarta, which has said it wants to “remain impartial” as the head of the G20, to send an invitation to President Volodymyr Zelensky for him to attend at least part of the meeting.
The host country traditionally invites a number of nations to join some aspects of the summit as observers, though they don’t tend to sit in on the formal discussions.
The inclusion of Zelensky would make the summit in Indonesia even more difficult from a diplomatic point of view.
At least some politicians, including US President Joe Biden, will never sit at the same table with putin. It is unclear whether Indonesia will be able to hold a summit and at the same time prevent putin and Biden from crossing their paths. It is equally unlikely that the russian president will take part in any events attended by Zelensky.
The United States fully supports russia's exclusion from the G20, although some countries, including China, oppose the move. russia was excluded from the G8 after Putin's annexation of Crimea in 2014.
Biden already said last month that if Indonesia did not exclude russia from the G-20 summit it should at least invite Ukraine to attend some meetings. One official familiar with the discussions said that message is now being reinforced behind closed doors.
putin has also not yet decided whether to take part in the summit. It’s possible if he does attend he may only do so virtually.
The country's government believes that Zelensky's invitation means increasing tensions during the summit, the official said. This limits opportunities to discuss other issues, including climate change and poverty.
Difficulties have already arisen at the G20 and IMF meetings in Washington last week. When the representative of russia began to speak, officials from other countries, including the United States, left. There was no overall communique issued.
