Raiffeisen banks in Europe stop exchanging hryvnia cash for foreign currency
Starting from July 25, commercial banks of Ukraine are prohibited from buying hryvnias in foreign financial institutions

What happened? Banks of the Raiffeisen group in Austria, Slovakia, Hungary and the Czech Republic will stop exchanging hryvnia cash for foreign currency starting from July 25 in accordance with the decision of the National Bank of Ukraine.

Details. On July 21, the National Bank of Ukraine introduced changes, according to which, starting from July 25, commercial banks of Ukraine are prohibited from buying cash hryvnias in foreign financial institutions.
It is noted that during the period of provision of this service, Ukrainians managed to exchange more than 1.1 billion UAH in cash for local currency in the network of the Raiffeisen group.
