What happened? During the occupation of Kupyansk town, the russian occupiers set up a torture chamber in the district police department of the city, where 400 people were kept in cells designed for 140 people. People had to sleep standing up.

Details. The illegal prison was located in the premises of the so-called guiding center of the occupation administration. The occupiers detained and abused local residents who refused to cooperate with them.
“According to international conventions, such treatment is recognised as torture and is a cruel, inhuman form of treatment and punishment,” the SSU added.
Previously. A mass grave was found in another liberated city in Kharkiv Oblast, Izium. After the exhumation, it was found that 99% of the bodies had signs of violent death. There were several bodies with their hands tied behind their backs, one person was buried with a rope around his neck.
