What happened? Prosecutors conducted an inspection of two basement premises in Kozacha Lopan village in Kharkiv Oblast, where the russian army tortured civilians during the occupation.

Details. According to the report, torture chambers were set up by the occupiers in the basements of the railway station and a local store. The russian military forcibly detained people and subjected them to torture, physical and psychological violence.
The victims at the hands of the military personnel of the aggressor country are currently being identified. Law enforcement officers are gathering evidence to bring the russian military to justice.
Investigative actions are carried out within the framework of criminal proceedings based on the fact of collaborative activity (Part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
