Zelensky offered G20 humanitarian programme Grain from Ukraine
The project aims at preventing famine in Africa and Asia

What happened? Volodymyr Zelensky offered the G20 group a humanitarian programme Grain from Ukraine. It is aimed at preventing famine in Africa and Asia.
Source. The President of Ukraine at the G20 summit, Head of the Office of the President, Andriy Yermak reports.
Details. The project envisages that Ukraine will direct part of its export wheat for purchase by the countries that are on the verge of famine. Part of the grain can be bought out by the states participating in the project and thus they will support both poor countries in Africa and the Ukrainian economy.
President Zelensky also proposed to create an international Hunger Prevention Coordination Group under his auspices in partnership with the UN World Food Programme (WFP). It may include representatives of governments, corporations and philanthropists who can directly influence the provision of food needs.
Mr. Yermak will coordinate the implementation of the relevant programme. The government plans that by the end of spring 2023 Ukraine will be able to provide agricultural products to 5 million people.
“By conducting hostilities and destroying the traditional supply chains, russians have brought at least 70 million people around the world closer to starvation. 90 years ago, russia already organised the Holodomor, now it intends to do that again on a global scale,” the head of the Office of the President explained.
