What happened? Ukrainian households engaged in agriculture have lost $2.25 billion in 6 months since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

Source. Such results of the study were announced by the national consultant of the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) Anna Burka during the round table “Agricultural sector + railway: open dialogue for common survival and development”, which was taking place in Kyiv with the support of UCAB.

Details. $1.26 billion of this amount were the losses of households in crop production, $1 billion – in livestock.

In addition, according to Anna Burka, 25% of these households have stopped or reduced their own production due to the war. Currently, 50% of the surveyed households' income is spent on food. Moreover, for the oblasts in which or near which there were hostilities, this figure is 75%.

Anna Burka also said that the organisation planned to attract about $100 million to help 500 thousand agricultural households. “We have to provide assistance with seed material, animal feed, and equipment, for this purpose we are going to attract about $100 million,” she concluded her speech.
