British intelligence: Russia lost about 60 thousand soldiers killed in Ukraine
One of the reasons is poor medical care

The Russian Ministry of Defense and private military companies have probably lost 175-200 thousand people since the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine. Among them, 40-60 thousand have been killed, according to a UK intelligence report.

Details. "By modern standards, these figures represent a high ratio of dead to wounded. This is almost certainly due to the extremely primitive medical support for most of the forces," the intelligence service said.
The agency notes that the level of casualties began to rise sharply in September after President Vladimir Putin announced mobilization. Most often, the military are killed or wounded by Ukrainian artillery fire.
As for the Wagner PMC, according to the British Ministry of Defense, it has already lost half of the prisoners recruited for the war.
Russia's total irrecoverable losses, i.e. the number of those who left the army due to injury, death or missing, may amount to about 120,000 servicemen.
At the same time, the BBC and the Russian media outlet Mediaphone are calculating based on data from open sources. As of February 12, 14,093 Russian military personnel have been killed since the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine, they calculated.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as of February 17, the Russian army has lost more than 141,000 people. The U.S. in its latest estimate put the figure at 200,000. On January 20, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley, said that Russia's losses in killed and wounded far exceed 100,000 people.
Background. As a reminder, a colonel of the Ukrainian Armed Forces recently reported that two elite brigades of Russian troops were destroyed near Vuhledar.
