In addition, the already sold drones were limited in functionality. DJI has removed drone control apps from the Russian AppStore. In response to Russian complaints, the company responded that it no longer provides them with its services, nor does it provide "services for any military activity."
At the same time, the previously installed services continue to work.
DJI drones can be used for military purposes. Earlier, the Belarusian opposition group ByPol reported that they had managed to damage a Russian A-50 aircraft at the Machulishchi military airfield near Minsk.
For this purpose, the copters were converted into kamikaze drones. Each of them carried a charge of 200 grams of TNT equivalent explosives and 200 metal balls for additional damage.
