Russia is not going to repair Nord Stream and will mothball it
Moscow does not see any improvement in relations with the West in the near future

Russia does not plan to repair the blown-up Nord Stream pipelines and is going to seal the pipelines.
Source. This was reported by Reuters with reference to sources.
Details. One of the interlocutors claims that Russia has buried the project. Another source familiar with the plans confirmed that the owners are considering preserving the pipes. This would most likely mean sealing the severed ends and taking measures to prevent further corrosion from seawater.
Two agency sources said that while there is no plan to repair the ruptured pipelines, they will be preserved for possible future use.
Moscow does not see any improvement in relations with the West in the near future that would allow the pipelines to be restarted, the sources told Reuters.
One of the agency's interlocutors suggested that if liquefied natural gas from the United States, which Europe has partially replaced Russian fuel with, becomes much more expensive, European countries may be ready to resume purchases in large volumes from Russia.
Background. In September, three of the four branches of the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines were blown up in the Baltic Sea. Investigators in Sweden and Denmark have not yet reported on the results of their investigations into the explosions. Russia accused the "Anglo-Saxons" of sabotage. German and Polish politicians believed that the explosions could have been organized by Russia.
