The US detained two Americans who have been transferring aircraft technology to Russia since 2020
The detainees concealed the true purpose of their goods and sent them through third countries

US police have arrested two Americans in Kansas City on charges of transferring aviation technology to Russia.
Source. Reuters writes about this with reference to the decision of the US District Court.
The suspects are Cyril Gregory Buyanovsky and Douglas Robertson. According to the investigation, they ran the KanRus Trading Company, which supplied aviation electronics to Russian companies. The company also repaired equipment used in Russian aircraft.
As evidence, the investigation cites an invoice in which KanRus indicated Germany as the final destination for the repaired equipment with a Russian FSB sticker.
According to the investigation, the detainees concealed the true destination of their goods and shipped them through third countries, including Armenia and Cyprus. On February 28, the US authorities detained another shipment of avionics and demanded that KanRus obtain a license to export the equipment, which the company did not have.
The court's indictment states that Buyanovsky and Robertson conspired to evade US laws and conceal the true end users of their exports in 2020, the Associated Press reports.
Thus, the suspects are accused of conspiracy, exporting goods without a license, falsifying export information, and smuggling goods in violation of US law. If found guilty, they face up to 20 years in prison for each charge, Reuters notes.
