SpaceX has sent another batch of Starlink satellites and two more telecom satellites into orbit

On Friday, the American aerospace company SpaceX conducted two orbital launches less than 5 hours apart. Both missions were carried out using Falcon 9 launch vehicles, and their goal was to deliver satellites into orbit.

Source. This was reported by Space.

The first Falcon 9 rocket was launched from the Vandenberg Space Force Base in California on March 17 at 23:26 Kyiv time. The carrier carried 52 Starlink telecommunications satellites.

The second launch was carried out from the Cape Canaveral Spaceport in Florida on March 18, at 03:38 Kyiv time. As part of this mission, two telecommunications satellites SES-18 and SES-19 were launched into outer space.

Both missions were successfully completed. The next batch of Starlink satellites entered low Earth orbit according to the schedule, while SES-18 and SES-19 satellites were delivered to geosynchronous orbit.

Both first stages of the Falcon 9 launch vehicles returned to Earth and landed on SpaceX floating platforms.

The next batch of Starlink satellites has joined the huge SpaceX grouping, which already consists of more than 3,700 satellites.

Obviously, the size of the Starlink satellite constellation will continue to grow in the future. Currently, SpaceX has a permit to launch 12 thousand Starlink satellites into low Earth orbit.

The company has also applied for permission to launch another 30 thousand satellites into space.

As for SES-18 and SES-19, they were launched into a 35,700 km orbit and will be used in the digital broadcasting network in North America.

Friday's launches were the 18th and 19th for SpaceX this year. SpaceX CEO Elon Musk said that his company could conduct up to 100 orbital launches in 2023.

Background. As it became known, the Ukrainian Starlink won a lawsuit against Elon Musk's SpaceX.
