EU no longer plans to impose new sanctions on russian economy - FT
The sanctions will only concern the strengthening of existing restrictions

The European Union has no plans to impose new sanctions against entire sectors of the russian economy, the Financial Times reports, citing sources among officials working on the next sanctions package.
The new sanctions will be aimed at strengthening existing restrictions and expanding blacklists, the sources said.
It is noted that the new sanctions, in particular, will be aimed at "closing loopholes" to circumvent the measures already introduced earlier.
"Restrictions will not be imposed on sectors of the economy not affected by the sanctions, as this could affect other EU countries. We are done. If we impose more sanctions, there will be more exceptions than measures," said one of the newspaper's sources.
Since the beginning of russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the EU has imposed 10 sanctions packages on russia, banning bilateral trade flows worth more than 135 billion euros.
This includes almost all oil imports from russia, as well as exports of many technologies, machinery and electronic goods.
Assets worth about 21.5 billion euros belonging to individuals and legal entities under sanctions, as well as 300 billion euros of kremlin money, were frozen.
Background. As reported, the United States imposed sanctions on companies that supply parts for kamikaze drones.
