US imposes new sanctions on more than 100 russian companies
These sanctions will further narrow putin's ability to wage a barbaric war and will stop russia's attempts to evade sanctions, the US says

The US government has announced a new round of sanctions against russia, blacklisting more than a hundred companies, dozens of individuals, and more than a thousand different goods that are now subject to an export embargo.
Source. This is stated on the website of the US Department of Commerce.
The agency imposed restrictions on 71 companies. Of these, 69 are russian, and two more are from Kyrgyzstan and Armenia. Kyrgyzstan's Tro.Ya supplies electronic and navigation equipment for industry, as well as components for telecommunications, the website says. The Armenian company, Medisar, supplies chemical raw materials and reagents.
Among russian companies, the US Department of Commerce's sanctions list includes enterprises related to mechanical engineering and aircraft construction, as well as defense industry enterprises. These include the Khabarovsk Shipyard, Ulyanovsk Mechanical Plant, Ural Civil Aviation Plant, and others.
In addition, the Ministry of Trade has banned the export of 1,224 industrial goods to russia and Belarus, including electronics, antiques, alcohol, watches, carpets, cosmetics and perfumes. Now, the US Department will require an export and re-export license to allow the supply of these products to russia.
Later, the US Treasury announced the sanctions. The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) imposed personal sanctions against 46 individuals, including the Human Rights Commissioner Tatyana Moskalkova and others.
In addition, OFAC imposed blocking sanctions against almost 200 companies. Among them are the gold mining companies Polyus and Polymetal. The current heads of the companies, Pavel Grachev and Aleksey Vostokov, are also on the SDN list.
The United States explains the sanctions as an effort to weaken russia's ability to wage war in Ukraine.
"From the very beginning of putin's illegal and unprovoked war, our global coalition has focused on supporting Ukraine while limiting russia's ability to invade," said US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen. "Today's actions will further limit putin's ability to wage a barbaric war and stop russia's attempts to evade sanctions."
Background. Meanwhile, it was reported that the assets of russian oligarch Deripaska in Ukraine have not yet been confiscated.
