According to the press service of the President of Ukraine, during his meeting with Narendra Modi, Volodymyr Zelensky thanked India for supporting Ukraine's territorial integrity and providing humanitarian aid.
For his part, Narendra Modi thanked for the assistance in evacuating Indian students from Ukraine. This is the first meeting between the politicians since the outbreak of full-scale war.
This was the first conversation between the leaders of Ukraine and India after the start of the full-scale Russian invasion. India did not strongly condemn the invasion, and New Delhi and Moscow cooperate closely in the economic sphere, in particular, Russia has reoriented a significant part of its oil exports to India after the introduction of restrictions by Western countries.
The Ukrainian leader also held talks with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, whom he also met earlier this month during a tour of European countries, to gain military support for his planned offensive. On his telegram channel, Zelensky said he thanked Sunak "for the UK's leadership in the international coalition of fighter jets."
According to the President's Office, Zelensky and Sunak discussed the implementation of the agreements reached during the Ukrainian president's visit to Britain on May 14. During the talks with George Maloney, they discussed training Ukrainian pilots in Italy and political support for Ukraine.
As reported, President Zelensky arrived in Japan, where he will attend the G7 summit.
