Ukraine is implementing a national potato quality standard for the first time – UkrSRTC
It's reported that it will be divided into extra, 1st class, and 2nd class

Ukraine is implementing a national standard for food-grade potatoes for the first time, which will come into effect from June 1st. The new standard will replace the Soviet GOST 7176-85 and GOST 26545-85.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Research and Training Center (UkrSRTC).
It is noted that from now on, Ukrainian potatoes will be classified as early and late, depending on harvesting time. Moreover, their intended use will also be considered – whether they can be cleared through customs or not.
As UkrSRTC reports, the national standard sets characteristics and norms for potatoes, taking into account their variety, appearance, odour, taste, and internal structure.
It also determines the content of toxic elements in potatoes, requirements for their calibration, labelling, packaging, and transportation.
It is noted that the potato standard has undergone extensive approval with market participants, representatives of retail trade, and has received approval from the technical standardisation committee Vegetable and Fruit Products and Equipment for their Processing.
Background. Mind previously reported that some GOST group standards in the grain and grain products sector have been abolished.
