The EU may direct profits from frozen russian assets to Ukraine.

This was reported by the Head of the Office of the President, Andriy Yermak, citing the Financial Times.

It is noted that the money from the frozen russian assets is stored in the Belgian clearing centre, Euroclear. The financial institution can reinvest these assets and generate additional profit.

"Restoring justice means holding russian criminals responsible for the war, as well as compensation for all harm done," Yermak commented.

Background. Mind previously reported that Belgium would send Ukraine $100 million in tax revenues from frozen russian assets. Half of this aid will go towards military needs, and the other half will be directed to assist the civilian population.
