The russian propaganda outlet RIA Novosti has published the words of an "informed source" blackmailing the American newspaper Wall Street Journal.

According to the kremlin agency, the anonymous source warned the Wall Street Journal of "consequences if it continues to spread disinformation about russia."

"If the Wall Street Journal continues to engage in activities unrelated to journalism, publishing disinformation about russia, it will mean that the editorial board is not interested in the fate of Gershkovich at all," RIA Novosti quoted the "informed source" as saying.

American journalist Evan Gershkovich was arrested in late March in Yekaterinburg on espionage charges. Recently, the journalist's arrest was extended until August 30.

Background. On Friday, the Wall Street Journal published an article about the negotiations of the Chinese delegation led by Li Hui during their trip to Europe.

According to the newspaper, Li Hui urged his interlocutors to demand an immediate ceasefire and to "leave" the territories of Ukraine seized by russia.

According to the WSJ, Li Hui conveyed the following "clear message" during his meetings with Europeans: "US allies in Europe should assert their autonomy and call for an immediate ceasefire" in Ukraine, as well as "leave" all the territories of Ukraine occupied by russia.

Reportedly, the Chinese were told that "freezing the conflict is not in the interest of the international community."
