G7 offers Ukraine to soften its stance on negotiations with Russia in exchange for faster EU accession
Washington wants to accelerate the end of the war, as the confrontation between Russia and Ukraine could become a problem before the US elections

EU and US authorities are urging Ukraine to soften its position on peace talks with Russia. In return, Kyiv is offered security guarantees and the launch of the EU accession process.
Source. This was reported by the Italian newspaper La Repubblica.
According to the newspaper, the G7 countries supported the idea of holding a summit on the "peace formula" for Ukraine proposed by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
However, the G7 proposes to soften the conditions and make them more acceptable to the countries of the Global South – developing countries in Africa, Latin America and Asia.
One of the options that the G7 is ready to offer Kyiv is to negotiate Ukraine's accession to the European Union at the upcoming EU summit in December.
La Repubblica writes that Washington intends to speed up the end of the war, as the confrontation between Russia and Ukraine could become an issue ahead of the US elections.
Last fall, Zelenskyy presented the Ukrainian "peace formula". The main points include the withdrawal of Russian troops from the occupied territories and the cessation of hostilities, the implementation of the UN Charter, the restoration of territorial integrity and world order, radiation and nuclear safety, security guarantees, and more.
At the same time, Russia has put forward its own conditions for ending the war in Ukraine. The conflict can be resolved only after Kyiv refuses to join the EU and NATO, said Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin. In addition, the diplomat demanded that Ukraine recognize the seized territories as Russian.
Background. Chinese envoy Li Hui recently visited Warsaw, Berlin, Paris, and Brussels to discuss a possible plan for a peaceful end to the war. He called for an early end to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and to prevent its escalation. At the same time, China claims that it did not propose to EU leaders to leave the occupied Ukrainian territories behind.
