Ukrhydroenergo CEO: Kakhovka HPP reservoir will disappear in 3-4 days
There is still hope that the lower part of the dam may be intact, in which case 3 meters of water will remain in the reservoir

Commenting on the consequences of the destruction of the Kakhovka HPP, Ukrhydroenergo CEO Ihor Syrota described two scenarios depending on the degree of damage to the dam.
Source. He said this on the air of a national telethon.
According to him, the main scenario is that in the next 3-4 days, the Kakhovka reservoir will be drained to zero: that is, the water will flow out completely and the bottom will be visible. This can be determined by the rate of water outflow. It is flowing out at a rate of 15-20 centimeters per hour, but it can accelerate.
The second possible scenario described by Sirota is this: if the lower part of the dam is intact, about three meters of water will remain in the reservoir.
At the same time, experts say that the shallowing of the reservoir could lead to an environmental disaster.
"The worst thing is if the reservoir is completely drained, toxic deposits are exposed and turn into dust when they dry. That's a real chemical bomb," said environmentalist Alexei Medvedkov, according to the BBC.
As reported, Syrota emphasized that the Kakhovka HPP is not subject to restoration, but after the return of Ukrainian territories, Ukrhydroenergo will build a new station on the site of the HPP destroyed by Russian troops.
