The USA has provided more aid to Ukraine than to any other state. It is noted that the country has already allocated $66.2 billion in assistance, of which $43.1 billion is military, $20.5 billion is economic, and $2.6 billion is humanitarian, according to The Washington Post.
In addition, this amount exceeds the bilateral support of other US allies, including Israel, Jordan, and Egypt, who are the largest recipients of aid.
The publication, citing experts, states that this sum is a "US investment in an ally," something that has not been seen since World War II. The volume of aid then amounted to $150 billion over three years.
According to the publication, the volume of American aid has surpassed the value of Twitter ($44 billion), the James Webb Space Telescope ($10 billion), and the expenditure on President Joe Biden's student loan plan ($39 billion).
At the same time, it is clarified that other countries have allocated to Ukraine a significantly higher percentage of GDP than the USA. Citing data from the Kiel Institute for the World Economy, the publication reports that Europe is currently spending a larger share of its GDP on Ukraine than the USA.
Background. Earlier, Mind reported that U.S. senators were proposing over $1.8 billion for the restoration of Ukraine's energy sector.
