Head of the State Special Communications Service: Ukrainian Armed Forces lose 40-45 reconnaissance drones a day on average

On average, the Defense and Security Forces of Ukraine lose 40-45 reconnaissance drones of both Ukrainian and foreign production per day, said Yuriy Shchyhol, head of the State Special Communications Service of Ukraine, during a national telethon on Tuesday, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

"If we talk about reconnaissance drones, on average, our Security and Defense Forces lose 40-45 drones a day. These are the simplest Mavic, Matrice, and large professional drones of Ukrainian and foreign production. That is why it is impossible to provide such a large number of them at once, as they are not produced in such a large number either in the world or in Ukraine," Shchyhol said.

The head of the State Special Communications Service emphasized that the war has changed the approach to the use of drones.

He also said that more than 22,000 attack drones have been contracted so far, and about 15,000 have already been handed over to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"In total, UAH 25 billion of the UAH 40 billion allocated by the government has already been spent on them," said the head of the State Special Communications Service.

According to him, "there will be about 180-200 thousand drones in a year for sure."

In addition, Shchyhol said that for some types of drones, such as attack copters, production has increased more than 100 times in a year, and the Army of Drones project has given impetus to the development of technology.

"We are doing everything possible today to ensure that we prevail over the enemy on the battlefield in attack and reconnaissance drones," he said.

Background. The day before, Yermak-McFall's group said that two-thirds of the spare parts for Russian drones were made in China.
