Zelenskyy confirms Ukraine's use of long-range ATACMS missiles
The range of the supplied ATACMS is about 160 km

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has confirmed that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have used long-range ATACMS missiles provided by the United States for the first time.
"Today I am especially grateful to the United States. Our agreements with President Biden are being implemented. They are being implemented very accurately – the Atacams have proven themselves," he said in a video message.
On Tuesday night, Ukraine used long-range ATACMS missiles to strike two airfields in Russian-occupied Luhansk and Berdiansk. This was reported by the Wall Street Journal and Politico, citing informed sources.
According to people familiar with the situation, a small number of ATACMS missiles have been secretly shipped to Ukraine by the United States in recent days. According to the WSJ, they will expand the Ukrainian Armed Forces' ability to launch long-range strikes against Russian troops at an important stage of the counteroffensive.
Kyiv has long been asking the United States for long-range weapons to hit targets in the rear of Russian troops.
The range of the delivered ATACMS is about 160 km, the WSJ writes.
On Tuesday, Ukraine's Special Operations Forces reported strikes on Russian troops' equipment at airfields in the temporarily occupied Berdiansk and Luhansk.
As a result, nine Russian helicopters of various modifications, special equipment, an air defense launcher, an ammunition depot were destroyed, and runways were damaged.
