Derkach: Polish carriers, despite promises, block the passage of trucks with humanitarian aid across the border

Polish carriers protesting near the Ukrainian border are blocking the passage of humanitarian aid and fuel tanks to Ukraine, despite promises.

Source. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Serhiy Derkach.

The Ukrainian official noted that information about these cases is being passed on to Polish colleagues.

Currently, long queues are forming at the Polish-Ukrainian border crossings as a result of the blockade. Drivers have to wait more than a hundred hours to cross the border.

On Thursday, November 23, the blockade of the Polish-Ukrainian border crossing in Medyka will begin, reports Polish Radio.

The Committee for the Protection of Transport Carriers and Employers, according to its representative Tomasz Borkowski, had previously announced the continuation of the protest.

"We will start the protest on Thursday in cooperation with farmers. They will strengthen our protest. We hope they will not change their minds. Tomorrow, starting at noon, carriers in Slovakia will also block the border with Ukraine," the committee representative said.

Background. Earlier it was reported that the Ministry of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure, together with specialized associations and carriers, had set up an aid headquarters to provide blocked Ukrainian drivers with food, drinking water, medicines and fuel.
