Biden: Congressmen will give Russia 'biggest gift' if they don't approve aid to Ukraine
US sends new military aid package to Ukraine worth $175 million from remaining funds

U.S. lawmakers must approve funding for Ukraine this month or risk giving Russia "the greatest gift of all," U.S. President Joe Biden said.
"It can't wait," Biden said, "Congress has to approve additional funding for Ukraine before it goes on vacation – it's as simple as that.
At the same time, it became known that the United States is sending a new package of military aid to Ukraine for $175 million from the remaining funds.
According to the State Department, the package includes ammunition for air defense systems and small arms, as well as equipment to protect critical infrastructure.
"If Congress does not act to provide additional funds for national security, this will be one of the last security assistance packages we will be able to provide to Ukraine. Helping Ukraine defend itself against Russian aggression and secure its future is in our national security interests and contributes to global stability around the world, and we need Congress to act now," Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said in a statement.
Background. As reported, the US will run out of funds to provide financial assistance to Kyiv by the end of the year if Congress does not approve the Biden administration's request for additional funding.
