"Absolute sh*t": Russian military complains about the poor quality of North Korean shells
They often fail to reach the target, as the powder charge in the shells often does not correspond to the declared one

Russian artillerymen in Ukraine complain about the poor quality of shells that North Korea began supplying in 2023. Most of the complaints are about the quality and quantity of gunpowder in the ammunition, according to pro-war z-bloggers cited by The Moscow Times.
According to the Grey Zone telegram channel, which is close to the disbanded Wagner PMC, the Russian military is receiving Iranian shells, which are praised as "good" and cursed by North Koreans. Due to the low quality of the powder, they are used in situations where "accuracy and buyability, and in general, the exit of the projectile from the barrel is of the least importance."

"As for the North Korean rockets, according to the artillerymen, they fly almost half as far as ours," the channel's author claims.
Iranian shells leave traces of soot, which have to be cleaned from the firing pin, but fly "very well," the Portfolio of the General Staff channel writes. North Korean shells do not reach their targets, he adds, because the powder charge in the shells often does not match the declared one.
"It's absolute bullsh*t. If a shell hits and explodes, it's a celebration, everyone dances and sings praises to Chairman Kim. If the shell missed and fell on the head of our infantry, thank the half-starved Korean teenagers who collected it for a bowl of rice," said Alexey Larkin of the WarGonzo project.
According to him, the Russian army should not expect any high-tech weapons from North Korean manufacturers, "if they are not able to assemble a simple shell for a gun."
North Korea has transferred not only a million artillery shells to Russia, but also several types of missiles for the war with Ukraine, South Korean intelligence reported in November.
According to Seoul, about 2,000 containers of weapons were shipped from the North Korean port of Rajin to Vladivostok. These containers can be loaded with more than 200 thousand 122 mm artillery shells or more than 1 million 152 mm shells.
Earlier it was reported that North Korea had sent more than a million artillery shells to Russia for the war with Ukraine, as well as advisors on their use. According to some reports, it could have received $3 billion for this.
