Meeting between Polish and Ukrainian authorities on the situation on the border may take place in the coming hours
The Polish Foreign Ministry is concerned about anti-Ukrainian slogans and statements praising Putin and his war against Ukraine
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called on the Polish authorities to negotiate over the agrarian protests on the Polish-Ukrainian border. He asked the Prime Minister and President of Poland to come there and announced that he would appear at the border with representatives of the Ukrainian government. The Ukrainian president posted his appeal on social media.
Meanwhile, as Polish Radio has unofficially learned, a meeting between the Ukrainian and Polish authorities may take place in the coming hours on Polish territory. Ukrainian Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Solsky has already left for Poland.
The President of Ukraine has asked the European Commission to send a representative to the meeting. The address is published in the text version in Polish and video with Polish subtitles.
Earlier, the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed concern over the appearance of anti-Ukrainian slogans and statements praising Putin and the war he started during the latest farmers' blockade.
According to the ministry's official statement, such actions put Poland in a bad light.
According to the Foreign Ministry, the current situation of Polish farmers is the result of Russian aggression against Ukraine and the destruction of the global economy, not the defence of Ukrainians from attack.
The diplomatic agency also called on the organisers of the protests to identify and remove from their movement activists who are likely to be acting under the influence of Russian agents.
