What happened? IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi has said that russian missiles over Ukraine's nuclear power plants could cause a nuclear accident.

Source. This is stated on the UN website.

Quote. “The IAEA is studying the evidence, and if it is confirmed, the incident will have extremely serious consequences. If such a missile changed its trajectory, it could seriously affect the physical integrity of the nuclear power plants and lead to a nuclear accident,” Grossi commented.

According to him, Ukraine has officially informed the IAEA that on April 16, 2022, a video surveillance camera recorded the flight of a missile directly over the South Ukrainian NPP.

Details. He also noted that a report with conclusions on the situation with nuclear electricity in Ukraine was published. Currently, of the 15 power units in the country, seven remain in operation, including two at the russian-controlled Zaporizhzhya NPP, two at the Rivne NPP, one at the Khmelnytsky NPP and two at the South Ukrainian NPP.

Previously. On April 16 over the South Ukrainian NPP three rockets were noticed, that were fired probably from the territory of belarus. They were on their way to Mykolaiv. One of them was recorded by surveillance cameras.

On April 25, 2022, at 08:10, two cruise missiles fired by the russian military, probably in the direction of the cities of Rivne or Zdolbuniv, were noticed over the Khmelnytsky NPP cooler.
