Zelensky at a meeting with the British Minister of Defense: “Only heavy weapons will help Ukraine win”
Ben Wallace assures that British support will continue

The Minister of Defense of the United Kingdom Ben Wallace met with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during his unannounced visit to Kyiv.
The British Ministry of Defense reports that Wallace also held negotiations with his Ukrainian counterpart Oleksii Reznikov during a two-day visit.
Wallace told Zelensky that “Britain will continue supporting Ukraine's needs as the conflict progresses.”
For his part, Volodymyr Zelensky stressed that Great Britain is a true friend of Ukraine. This was especially evident after the beginning of russia's brutal aggression against Ukraine.
“The war has shown who our real, and not only strategic, but also effective friends and partners are today. One of such friends is Great Britain,” the President said.
Volodymyr Zelensky informed Ben Wallace about the priority needs of Ukraine's defense forces in heavy weapons.
The head of state stressed: “Today the key priority for us is the quickest obtaining of heavy weapons. This is an important stage on our way of defeating the russian aggressor and restoring the territorial integrity of Ukraine.”
During the meeting, the issues of security guarantees for our state were discussed. There was also an exchange of views on possible ways to unblock Ukrainian ports to prevent a global food crisis.
The United Kingdom has become one of the largest suppliers of military equipment to Ukraine. They have recently agreed to send long-range missile launch systems that could hit russian artillery positions in eastern Ukraine.
Western officials say the conflict is turning into a slow, grueling war as russian troops move slowly forward conducting their offensive.
It was also reported that the United Kingdom is strengthening the mechanism of prosecution for violating sanctions against russia.
