ZNPP is completely shut down – Energoatom
The power unit No. 6 is being prepared for cooling and switching to cold position

What happened? Tonight, on September 11, at 03:41 a m. power unit No. 6 of the Zaporizhzhia NPP was disconnected from the power grid. Preparations for its cooling and switching to cold position are underway.
Source. Energoatom.
Details. For the past three days, the sixth power unit has been operating in island mode at a critically low capacity (from 114 to 140 MW), feeding only the plant's own needs, as all of the ZNPP communication lines with the Ukrainian power grid were damaged due to russian shelling.
Yesterday evening, after the operational capacity of one of the communication lines was restored, it became possible to supply ZNPP with auxiliary power from the Ukrainian power grid. Therefore, a decision was made to shut down power unit No. 6 and switch it to the safest state – cold shutdown.
In the event of repeated damage to the lines of communication with the power grid, the risk of which remains high, the ZNPP's auxiliary power supply will be provided by diesel generators, operation of which is constrained by their technology and the amount of available diesel fuel.
It is noted that Energoatom National Nuclear Energy Generating Company is taking all possible measures to organise the supply of additional batches of diesel fuel to the ZNPP.
