Details. It is noted that the pace of advance of russian troops in the area of Bakhmut has slowed down in recent days. However, it is too early to say that the offensive in this direction has reached its culmination.
The conclusion about the slowdown in Bakhmut is based, among other things, on the reports of russian military bloggers who admit that Ukrainian forces in the area of Bakhmut managed to slow down the pace of the russian offensive. One of them claims that Ukrainian forces have pushed back the Wagner group to the positions they held a few days ago.
“The russian army's lack of personnel and ammunition will likely not allow it to maintain the current high tempo of offensive operations in the Bakhmut area in the near term. Continued pressure on Bakhmut could also impair russia's ability to achieve its long-term goals in the Donbas theatre of operations,” the ISW report says.
