What happened? According to the results of 2022, Ukraine became the ninth largest wheat producer with an indicator of 20.5 million tonnes, which is one third lower than last year.

This season, ahead of Ukraine are such wheat producers, as China (138 million tonnes), the EU (134.7 million tonnes), India (103 million tonnes), russia (91 million tonnes), the United States (44.9 million tonnes), Canada (35 million tonnes), Australia (33 million tonnes), and Pakistan (26.4 million tonnes).
In turn, Ukraine produced more wheat than Argentina (17.5 million tonnes), Turkey (17.25 million tonnes), Great Britain (14.6 million tonnes), Iran (13.2 million tonnes), Kazakhstan (13 million tonnes), Egypt (9.8 million tonnes), Brazil (9.2 million tonnes), and Uzbekistan (6.6 million tonnes).
It is noted that the total sown area of wheat in 2022 exceeded 220 million hectares worldwide. Wheat is produced by both developed and developing countries. At the same time, developed regions account for 50% of total world wheat production, and the total sown area is 53%.
