Details. He notes that if the major offensive of the russian army, which is planned for this period, fails, it will be the downfall of russia and putin.
"When spring and early summer are behind us, maybe we will be able to start talking about the end of the war. We can't look so far ahead yet, we have to go through the first stage," Mr. Skibitskyi explains.
According to the representative of the DIU, the decisive battles will take place in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. According to the intelligence, the main activity of the occupiers' army will take place in those areas.
"We see where this war is heading: the russian military leadership has changed, the first stage of mobilisation is over, the russian army is regrouping," adds Mr. Skibitskyi.
At the same time, the Defence Intelligence spokesman notes that a new russian offensive on Kyiv through belarus is unlikely, as well as active hostilities in southern Ukraine, where russians are more concerned about defending the occupied Crimea.
