Zelensky proposes to extend martial law and mobilisation until May 20

What happened? Volodymyr Zelensky has submitted draft laws to the Verkhovna Rada that would extend martial law and general mobilisation in Ukraine for 90 days, until May 20, 2023.

Details. The draft law states that it will come into force on the day of its publication.

According to MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak from the Holos (Voice) party, the Parliamentary Committee on National Security, Defence and Intelligence approved the relevant laws almost unanimously – 19 out of 20 members supported them. The next step is a vote in the Parliament.
