Earthquake in Turkey and Syria: the death toll has exceeded the mark of 2,300 people

More than 2,300 people have been confirmed dead in Syria and Turkey.
Details. The latest data from the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency shows that 1,498 deaths have been registered in Turkey. Less than an hour ago, this figure was 1121.
In Syria, two figures have been released: one for government-controlled areas and one for opposition-controlled areas.
In the government-controlled areas of Syria, about 430 deaths were recorded.
The Syrian Civil Defence, known as the White Helmets, confirmed about 390 deaths in opposition-controlled areas.
