What happened? Ukraine imported petroleum products from the United States for the first time.

Details. The company imports 100,000 tonnes of diesel fuel. The tanker with petroleum products arrived at the port of Hamburg, from where UPG is to pick up the products in smaller tankers of 30,000 tonnes, and bring them to the terminal in Poland.
Marathon Petroleum Company, a petroleum products manufacturer, has become the supplier of the fuel. The Ukrainian company does not disclose commercial details, but it notes that the experience of the first deliveries indicates the prospects of continuing this work.
"The situation in Europe is pretty good now, with large reserves and a downward trend in prices. However, we will try to increase the supply of American products due to the logistical convenience of working with these batches and favourable pricing," the company states.
According to enkorr's interviewees from UPG, American diesel has already been delivered to UPG filling stations.
Parties. The UPG filling station network includes 81 filling stations. In 2022, the company became the second largest importer of diesel fuel, and in recent years it has been one of the largest wholesale fuel sellers.
At the end of 2022, Ukrpaletsystem announced the acquisition of the assets of the Polish company Baltchem SA Zakłady Chemicze, which owned two marine terminals in Poland for the transshipment and storage of petroleum products.
