Board member Liashchenko to act as Head of Ukrzaliznytsia
Liashchenko served as CFO of Akhmetov's Media Group Ukraine
After the resignation of Oleksandr Kamyshin, board member Yevhen Liashchenko will be acting Head of the Board of Ukrzaliznytsia.
This was reported by Orest Lohunov, a member of the board of the Ukrainian Railways on Facebook.
"Yevhen Liashchenko will be acting Head of Ukrzaliznytsia – he is powerful and highly trusted," Mr. Lohunov wrote.
Commenting on the reasons for his predecessor's resignation, he quoted Mr. Kamyshin's tweet, in which he noted that, in agreement with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Recovery Oleksandr Kubrakov, he was heading to the EU to open the European Integration Office for Ukrzaliznytsia.
Background. Earlier, Oleksandr Kamyshin, chairman of the board of Ukrzaliznytsia, announced that he was resigning. He is to head the European Integration Office of Ukrzaliznytsia in Europe.
As a member of the Ukrzaliznytsia board, Mr. Liashchenko was in charge of financial issues. Since 2012, he has served as CFO of Media Group Ukraine, and on July 1, 2014, he was appointed director of the holding, which was part of SCM Group's media business, where he worked until 2019.
Mr.Kamyshin had been heading Ukrzaliznytsia since August 2019 in the status of "acting CEO". On October 25, 2021, the Cabinet of Ministers dismissed the former members of the board of Ukrzaliznytsia and appointed new ones, and approved Mr. Kamyshin as Head of the Board. The new board members include Mr. Liashchenko, who had previously been a freelance adviser to Mr. Kamyshin. At the same time, at his position was appointed Mr. Lohunov, who had previously served as the director of public procurement at Naftogaz since 2017. In February 2022, the composition of the Supervisory Board of Ukrzaliznytsia was approved, after which Mr. Kamyshin approved it for a four-year term on a permanent basis and the members of the Board for a three-year term.
