The decision was made by the management and shareholders due to the termination of the supply of batteries and accumulators from the plant in Belgium.
In a letter from Durasell Rasha LLC addressed to the company's business partners, it is said that its withdrawal from the Russian market will be carried out "in accordance with all laws and regulations." It is emphasized that Duracell's shareholders are not going to make its products available in the Russian market in any way after the liquidation of the company's Russian subsidiary.
It is also noted that all outstanding orders will be settled, and the products remaining in warehouses in Russia will be sold. After that, the company will terminate all commercial contracts, annexes and additional agreements to them.
In mid-2022, Duracell products were included in the list of "parallel imports". However, it was soon removed from the list. According to the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Denis Manturov, this was done because the company gave guarantees of supplying its branded goods to Russia.
Despite the fact that hundreds of companies have left Russia during the war in Ukraine, most companies headquartered in the EU and G7 countries continue to operate in Russia, Swiss economists have found.
In total, more than 1,000 foreign companies have left Russia since February 24, including Microsoft, Netflix, McDonald's, Johnson & Johnson and others.
