The President of the European Commission calls for the provision of long-range weapons to Ukraine
According to her, the EU is offering a document to increase the production of 155-millimetre and 152-millimetre shells

The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, called for the provision of artillery and long-range weapons systems to Ukraine.
She stated this during her speech on Wednesday at the Globsec forum in Bratislava, UNN reports.
"The urgent need – you know this – is military assistance to support the efforts of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. That is why we have just proposed a document on ammunition production – we call it ASAP. We want to spur our defence industry to increase the production of urgently needed 155-millimetre and 152-millimetre artillery shells. And those who can should provide artillery and long-range weapon systems that can help Ukraine level the playing field in the face of invading forces," said von der Leyen.
Background. Earlier, Biden stated that the issue of providing Ukraine with long-range ATACMS missiles was under consideration. Kyiv proposed to Washington to allow other countries to sell ATACMS to Ukraine instead of direct deliveries.
