Sunak called it the most serious blow to civilian infrastructure during the war
In an interview with the BBC, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak commented on the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station dam.
According to him, the British military and intelligence services are still investigating the causes of what happened and cannot draw any conclusions about the perpetrators. However, Sunak said that if russia was indeed to blame for the disaster, it was consistent with its actions during the war.
"If it was done deliberately, then this strike becomes the most serious blow to civilian infrastructure in the entire war," Sunak said.
The British prime minister also promised to help bring to justice those responsible for the destruction of the dam.
Sunak spoke to the BBC during a visit to the United States, where he is scheduled to meet with President Joe Biden on Thursday to discuss strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities.
