Romania has decided to expel 40 employees of the Russian Embassy at once: 11 diplomats and 29 technical staff.

According to the ministry, there was a need to reduce the staff of the Russian embassy to a level close to the staff of the Romanian embassy in Moscow.
According to Russian state agencies, the Russian Embassy was ordered to reduce its staff by 51 positions, but 10 diplomatic positions and one technical position are still unfilled.
As a result, the staff of the Russian Embassy in Bucharest will be cut by more than half, and the number of diplomats by 60%.
Embassy staff must leave Romania within 30 days. The Romanian Foreign Ministry leaves the right to choose whom to send home to the Russians.
